 Jeff MoormanDirector of Bands | Mr. Jeff Moorman is in his 3rd year with us here at Howell North and his second as Head Band Director. He is an active music educator and drill writer in the Saint Louis area as well as being a trained winter guard and drumline adjudicator. Before coming to North he was an Assistant at Branson High School and served as the winter program coordinator at Francis Howell High School. During his tenure at Howell his students won two MCCGA championships and were a finalist 3 times at WGI Regionals. Mr. Moorman received his undergrad in Music Education at the University of Missouri - St. Louis under the tutelage of Dr. William Richardson. He just received his Masters in Music Eductaion at the University of Missouri - St. Louis. He was a member of Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps from 1999-2001 and Santa Clara Vanguard from 2002-2003. |

Paul Ahlemeyer Associate Director | Mr. Paul Ahlemeyer is in his 2nd year at Francis Howell North High School. This will be his 2nd year as the Associate Director. He is an active, enthusiastic, and young music educator. Mr. Ahlemeyer outside of teaching during the day performs in the St. Louis area. He currently is the bass trombonist of the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra. Outside of the orchestra he freelances and plays at any tantalizing performance opportunities. Before being the Associate Director at North Mr. Ahlemeyer was a substitute teacher in the Francis Howell School District. Mr. Ahlemeyer earned his undergraduate degree in Music Education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has started work towards his master’s degree in Education at Lindenwood University. |

Duane Williams Guard Director | Duane Williams is in his fourth year as the Director of color guard at Howell North High School. 2009 marks Duane’s 25th anniversary participating in the color guard activity and 20th anniversary as a Director. His teaching career has been spent primarily in Indiana, but has also designed shows for units in Ohio and California and is currently the show designer for Kettering Fairmont High School in Dayton, Oh. A graduate of Indiana State University, Duane resides in St. Louis, Mo, and when he’s not teaching guard, enjoys playing softball, reality tv, and traveling as much as possible. |

Kenny Winschel Asst. WInds & Percussion | Kenny Winschel is in his second year at Francis Howell North. He has previously taught at Francis Howell and Blue Springs South high schools and also as a private euphonium, tuba, trombone, and trumpet instructor. Kenny has performed in various ensembles. These ensembles include the UMKC Wind Symphony and Ensemble, St. Charles Community College’s show choir, and the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle corps. Kenny was also a member of the Doggies of Woo tuba and euphonium quartet which qualified for competition in the International Tuba and Euphonium Competition. Kenny is currently attending the University of Missouri-St. Louis pursuing his degree in music education. |
Trisha Ostmann Asst. Guard Director | Trisha Ostmann is in her fifth year as guard technician for the Howell North guard program. Trisha is a graduate of Howell North and a 2009 graduate of Lindenwood University with a degree in Elementary Education. Trisha and her husband Brett reside in Montgomery City, Mo, and have one child. |
Emma Heidman Asst. Guard Director | This is Emma's second year with the Howell North color guard, and 8th year in the color guard activity all together. Before coming to us at FHN she taught at her alma mater Francis Howell. Currently, she is attending EMT school in St.Charles and starting nursing school in the fall of 2010 at Maryville University. We wish her all the best. She was also a member of the color guard in the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps in 2007 where they made World Finals for the first time in a decade. Other than working with the color guard she works as a patient care tech at Barnes Jewish St. Peters Hospital. In her free time she enjoys reading, watching movies, baking, and visiting with friends. |
Devin Lowe Asst. Percussion Director | Devin Matthew Lowe is a freelance percussionist, pianist, and guitarist in the Saint Louis area. He is currently a student at Lindenwood University pursuing a dual major in Music Education and Performance. He is the current President of the Pi Zeta chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity and keeps busy by performing regularly and dabbling in amateur luthiery and carpentry. His favorite styles of Music are Jazz and Classic Rock. |

Curtis Vahle Winds and Visual Instructor | This is Curtis Vahle’s second year on staff as Woodwind and Visual instructor. He graduated from Francis Howell North in 2005 after having marched with the band for three years. He is currently in his fifth year at UMSL, pursuing a Bachelor of Music Education degree. His main instrument is the saxophone, but he continues to further himself on flute and clarinet when he can. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies, playing games, and is a member of a band called (the) Fracture Suit with three other friends. Look them up! |

Aaron Robertson Brass and Visual Instructor | Aaron is coming to us from Parkway South where he worked as their individual marching and music tech. He is a 2007 Francis Howell North Graduate. He marched all four years at North while playing in the symphonic, pep, and jazz band, and winter drumline(freshman year). He attended Missouri State and then transferred to Lindenwood University to continue studies as a Music Educator with an instrumental background. During college he continues to participate in marching, jazz, pep, and concert band. In his free time Aaron enjoys watching Live Music in motion. |
